What we do

The Hive at Nettle Hill supports schools and provides a service which focuses on developing strong links between outdoor experiences, curriculum learning, and education tailored to the individual.

  • Working to enhance and develop mental health, self-esteem, self reflection and life opportunities for vulnerable children.

  • Working to develop resilience and commitment through reflection and support.

  • We believe the natural environment provides the ideal place to learn and see transformation taking place.

  • We promote emotional wellbeing and confidence.

  • Working to develop emotional literacy.

  • We promote solution-focused/problem-solving environments for learning.

  • We believe that communication skills, compassion and kindness are key.

  • We aim to deliver hope for the future.

The Hive offers support, mentoring and vocational education for vulnerable children and young people.

We are committed to providing high quality support and our dedicated practitioners are committed to facilitating a child-centred provision. By offering support and access to education, work skills and life skills for each child, we endeavour to support them in flourishing in all areas of life.

Our Mission

To  inspire a love for life and a joy in learning whilst developing an understanding of health, wellbeing, and self-esteem. By learning through doing, we work together to solve problems.

Trained staff work with participants to provide a quality learning experience, which will build an understanding of the need for resilience through nature and the environment.

Indoor hospitality

Hospitality and Catering

In addition to our outdoor explorations, we also offer indoor training in catering and hospitality, training pupils to be attentive to the needs of others.
